You can request deletion of your Rankly account and all associated personal data at any time.
How to request deletion
Send an email to privacy@rankly.games from the email address associated with your account, with the subject line "Account deletion request".
That's it. We'll confirm receipt within 3 business days and complete the deletion within 30 days, as required by GDPR.
What gets deleted
When we process your deletion request, we permanently remove:
- Your account (email address, display name, login credentials)
- Your profile information (avatar, site, play area)
- Your push notification tokens (across all devices)
- Your biometric login preference
- Any personal preferences and settings
What may be retained
For the integrity of leaderboards, ratings, and tournament results that involve other players, the following may be retained in anonymized form:
- Historical match records — match results between players are part of the shared game history. After deletion, your name is removed and replaced with an anonymous placeholder (e.g. "Former player"), but the match itself remains so other players' ratings and statistics are preserved.
- Aggregated statistics — anonymized totals (number of matches played at a site, average rating, etc.) may remain in our analytics.
If you want your match history fully erased (including from other players' records), tell us in your deletion request. We'll review and discuss the impact on other users before proceeding.
How long it takes
- Email confirmation — within 3 business days
- Deletion completion — within 30 days of your request
- Backup purge — within an additional 30 days, your data is purged from encrypted backups
Before you delete
Deletion is permanent. We cannot recover your account or data after deletion is complete. If you only want to take a break from Rankly, you can:
- Disable push notifications in your device settings
- Uninstall the app from your phone
- Simply stop logging in — your data is retained while your account exists, and you can return at any time
